Breaking down attitudinal barriers

Barriers to Access

Physical access is not just about wheelchair accessible toilets or making sure that people can get in and out of a building independently. Level entrances, gentle slopes, wide corridors and so on are better for people who are unsteady on their feet and for those accompanied by small children as well as wheelchair users. Access is also about providing facilities for people who are deaf/hearing impaired or who may have other hidden impairments.
